Vision training day reflections

Just wanted to thank all those who came to the vision day on Saturday. We were greatly encouraged to see so many people connecting with each other and God.

Please leave your comments here, and email us using the links of the left column. We hope you will stay in touch over the year, and share resources.

Soon - we will have a link here for you to download all the handouts from the day so you can use them in your own training of vulunteers who couldn't come to the day.

A HUGE thank you to James Hamilton who started and finished the day in such a wonderful way. James hopes he didn't give too much emphasis on children's workers to the expense of youth workers!

So, it's over to you - what did you get from the day - what were you able to give to others?

New Online Resource

Here's an interesting one! Come Clean is an online confession tool, allowing you to type in your confession and see it washed away under a tap! You may find it helpful personally or maybe in a small group setting if you could have a computer handy.

If you come across any good ideas or resources - let us know by emailing us using the links on the left.

Engage! National certificate in Christian youth work

Engage! - national certificate in Christian youth work is an excellent youth work training course developed by the Centre for Youth Ministry and will be starting in York at St Michael le Belfrey in September 2006. This course seeks to enable Christian youth workers to engage with God and to engage with young people in a meaningful way and to provide you with a national qualification.

The course is for people involved in youth work in their spare time, fulltime, part time or on a year out. You might be:
a church youth worker / a volunteer youth leader / a Christian working in a local authority youth centre / a detached youth worker / a schools worker.

Learning includes taught sessions, private study, group work, undertaking Christian youth work, reflecting on time spent with young people, keeping a youth work journal and regular meetings with a mentor.

There are 8 teaching days from September 2006 through to June 2007. These are Saturdays and each day runs from 10am - 4pm.
